Jess McNally, M.S.

Owner + Lead Designer

Jess received her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Earth Systems from Stanford University in 2010, with a focus on ocean science and environmental communication. She has worked as a science journalist and research writing consultant, and also as business owner and operator. She was the CEO for Banff Cycle and Sport, and also owned and operated Jolene’s Tea House, an organic tea company that has both an online and brick-and-mortar retail.

Designing websites and helping with marketing began as a side project and passion back in university, and continued over the next decade. After creating dozens of websites for a variety of people, projects, research teams, businesses, and non-profits, she decided to launch Marten Street Media in 2020. (At the time she was living on Marten Street in Banff.)

Jess loves creating websites that integrate beautiful design, easy navigation, and clear communication. She also enjoys using her background in entrepreneurship and marketing to help businesses develop their online marketing and advertising strategies.

Outside of web design, Jess is also a Buddhist meditation teacher. She also loves running, biking and skiing, and spending time with her dog. She lives in Calgary, Alberta.
